Some people

Irrespective of the emotion surrounding this, let us examine your logic:

You are picking an arbitrary figure, albeit an important one, at an arbitrary time in the Gelug lineage.

By your logic we should bin every teaching given since then, including those by HHDL, especially anythinng they introduce from another tradition, as some argue was the case with Dorje Shugden.

I may as well say that banning anything taught since Atisha is 'purifying' the tradition. The Gelug tradition is older than their name.

Or I could argue that exclusion of any teacher or teachings in the Kadampa and Gelug traditions is a damaging corruption of the lineage. ;)

This would be incorrect to say this tenzin if one cannot rely on the old masters for guidence there is no point relying at all.

NKT training. What else!

That is no valid inference. If it were valid then teachings newly invented by this group would be the general cause.

hi.. i'm new here.. just wanted to say that i enjoyed reading the thread - from the notes of appreciation to the discussion on Shugden (though i must admit I am not sure what the discussion was about... something about whether Tsongkhapa taught Dorje Shugden practice? i thought he didn't because Lord Dulzin had not yet manifested as DS at that time, though I did read that Tagpo Rinpoche went to Tushita heaven and received teachings on DS from Tsongkhapa himself.

i like very much catmoon's attitude of not criticising anyone. very refreshing. :) i look forward to exploring this site further.
