Irrespective of the emotion surrounding this, let us examine your logic:
You are picking an arbitrary figure, albeit an important one, at an arbitrary time in the Gelug lineage.
By your logic we should bin every teaching given since then, including those by HHDL, especially anythinng they introduce from another tradition, as some argue was the case with Dorje Shugden.
I may as well say that banning anything taught since Atisha is 'purifying' the tradition. The Gelug tradition is older than their name.
Or I could argue that exclusion of any teacher or teachings in the Kadampa and Gelug traditions is a damaging corruption of the lineage.
